Description
Established on St. Maarten in 2014, K1 Britannia Foundation focuses extensively on a variety of charitable projects. K1 houses several initiatives in the fields of Disaster Relief, Foster Care, Volunteerism and Second Chance.
Your support will help the following projects are:
Youth Transitional Program:
The Transitional Program is geared towards youth who’ve been in foster care, youth on probationary measures and youths coming from challenging social and economic backgrounds – particularly for those with limited higher education. Your donation helps K1 to provide work experience, a full scholarship for educational training to obtain their GED diploma or attend NIPA, life-skills and ‘work-ready’ workshops and volunteer projects amongst other key support mechanisms like tutors and mentors for participants.
Community Projects:
K1’s Volunteer Community Projects span various fields such as seniors, youth, sports, animals, nature, and education. The regular community projects offer volunteers a chance to contribute their skills and time, fostering a strong community connection. By supporting these projects, we become active and proactive citizens, directly giving back to our community and collaborating with organizations in need.
Disaster Relief:
The management of this volunteer team consists mainly of preparedness activities.
The program focuses on recruitment and retention of current volunteer members, consistent training, procurement of needed supplies and equipment, medical expenses and supplies, insurance for volunteers, warehouse and logistical activities, communication, local and regional partnerships, and expansion for effective assistance in times of disaster and crisis locally or in the region.
Our work is only possible with individual and community support. Let’s work together to support the next generation.
