How to raise money through crowdfunding?
Interested in raising money online through your own crowdfunding campaign? CXPay2Fund’s crowdfunding platform makes it possible everyone to raise money online for things that are important to you. Anyone can raise money for his or her personal purpose, desire, dream, foundation, etc. Crowdfunding is becoming increasingly popular and has become a well-known concept. In crowdfunding, the crowd finances a project, charity or action with a small amount of money. Until recently, crowdfunding was mainly seen as an alternative form of financing used by companies and entrepreneurs. With the rapidly changing times, crowdfunding has become increasingly popular and used for social projects. CXPay2Fund’s platform makes it possible for everyone to raise money online and thus achieve personal goals and wishes.

Who can start a campaign?
Anyone can start a campaign. All you have to do is complete the free registration for a Crowdfunding account and get started!

What can I raise money for?
CX Pay2Fund makes it possible to raise money online for everything that matters to you. Most people start an action to raise money for themselves, a friend, family member or for a good cause. Crowdfunding is then a perfect way to raise money online. A small or large donation, all bits help to achieve your goal.

What is the campaign approval process like?
Once you upload your campaign request, additional information will be requested to verify your identity according to the “Know Your Customer” principle, this information will go through our site administrators for further review. Within two business day of uploading your campaign, it will either be approved and listed on the website, or we will be in touch requesting for more information, usually regarding your organization and what you intend to use the funds for. We condone campaigns associated with weapons, drug and human trafficking, money laundering, and other illegal activities, so campaigns of that nature are immediately rejected.

How long can I run my campaign?
You can run your campaign for up to 6 months, but from our experience, campaigns which have a timeline of between 8 and 12 weeks are the most successful. This is because, you’re more likely to be motivated to run and sustain a campaign awareness campaign for such a relatively short period, and people are more willing to donate if you create a sense of urgency.

How do I share my campaign once it has been uploaded?
Our website has links to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn so you can make your friends and social media connections aware of your fundraising campaign and encourage them to support it with monetary donations or by sharing the campaign with their network.

Did you know your campaign has a unique URL link? You can send this link via email or WhatsApp, a service which past campaign owners have found helpful in sharing their campaign via broadcast messages and personal messages. Anyone that clicks on the link is immediately directed to your campaign page, and once they click on “Donate” they can support your campaign.

Can I start a campaign without a bank account?
No, you cannot start a campaign without a bank account. This is because we can only transfer your funds to you through your bank account.

Can I raise more money than my target?
Yes, you can. The target is your goal, but you can raise more!

Do I have to pay back the funds I received from my donors?
No, you do not have to pay back the funds you received from people that donated to your campaign. We are a donation-based crowd funding website and we treat donations as grants and not loans. However, you can offer donors perks or incentives to encourage them to donate to your campaign. For example, if you are raising money to build a school in your community, you can offer people that donate a certain amount the opportunity to have their names on the school wall, or to have a classroom building named after them.

Offering relevant and attractive incentives can help you raise more money, but it is for you to decide.

How many times can I upload a crowdfunding campaign?
You can upload as many different fundraising campaigns as you want to our website, but you can only have a maximum of two campaigns on our website at a time. Sharing and promoting a crowd funding campaign to make it successful requires a lot of resources including time and money, which is why we have limited the number of active campaigns any fundraiser can have.

Which countries are supported?
We accept campaigns from all over the world, except from countries that are on the OFAC restricted list.

For example, for a good cause or to help those in need, for schools or education projects, animals, charity foundations or neighborhood centers. You name it, with your action to raise money you can contribute to the cause that matters most to you and help a hand.

Making and Receiving Donations

  1. How can I make a donation?
    After you click on the “Donate” button for the campaign you would like to support, you can make a donation. Donations are made via the CX Pay payment processing platform and through bank transfers.
  1. I am trying to donate with my local visa or master card, but it is not going through. Why?
    If you want to donate with your Visa or Master card, please make sure your card is registered for online transactions. If not, you must contact your bank to request that your Visa card is “Verified by Visa” (VbyV) or your MasterCard is MasterCard Secure, so you can use it for online payments. You only must do this once, and after doing this, you can make online payments everywhere in the world.
  1. When will I receive the money that is donated to my campaign?
    For the duration of your campaign we will transfer your donations to you either every week, monthly, bimonthly or at the end of the campaign, provided the balance is at least Five hundred Dollars ($500,-). If your campaign has a balance by the time it is complete, that balance will also be transferred to you. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee when you will receive your donated funds after we have initiated the money transfer. Depending on your bank, it may take up to 48 business hours for your campaign’s bank account to be credited.
  1. How do I know if someone has donated to my campaign?
    You will receive an email notification for every donation that you receive with the details that the fundraiser has provided. Additionally, you can view your donation history once you are logged on to the website. Although our system sends an automated thank you e-mail to every donor, it doesn’t hurt if they get another personal thank you from you.
  1. Can a donor give anonymously?
    Yes, they can. They can choose to be “anonymous” when they donate by checking the “anonymous” box on the campaign donation page. The e-mail to the campaign owner about the donation as well as the donation history (only accessible to the fundraiser) will not contain the donor’s information.
  1. Do my donors get charged when they make donations?
    No, they will not be charged. The fees charged for each donation is not absorbed by the donor but rather deducted from the donation.
  1. Who processes the donation?
    CX Pay is an online payment provider and will process the donations for the campaigns. CX Pay makes it easy to make and receive payments. The service is integrated with Visa, Master-card and various local payment methods.
  1. In what currencies can donations be made?
    Donations can be made in Dollars. Any other international currency will be converted to Dollars.

 

Safety & Security

How secure is CX Pay?
Our website has a secure server, which is donated by the “https” preface to its web address and the padlock attached to the web address. Https is a protocol for secure communication over a computer network which is widely used on the Internet. It provides authentication of the website and associated web server with which one is communicating, which protects against man-in-the-middle attacks. In addition to this https protection, data is not stored on the CX Pay website server but in a remote site. See for more information in our privacy policy.

CX Pay, uses a secure platform to transfer donated funds to the fundraiser. CX Pay works with its partner acquiring bank to ensure that donations and transfers to the campaign owner are done safely and securely.

How secure is your website when I use my international card?
Local and international transactions using Visa and Mastercard are directed to the respective payment interfaces where you can enter your details, undergo their security procedures, and make your payment.

How can I be sure the funds that are raised will be used for the purpose stated?
We require that fundraising campaigns for organizations use the organization’s bank account for campaign set up and to receive donations. We also require organizations raising funds to provide us with their Tax Identification Number (TIN), which we then verify on our end. If we suspect that the funds raised are used for a different cause than is stated on the campaign, we can do a random check of the campaign. We cannot 100% guarantee that that the information displayed in the campaign is accurate or truthful or that the donated funds are used for the purpose stated and for this reason, we strongly recommend you only donate to people you know or to a campaign you trust.

How do you prevent money laundering on your website?
There have been no cases of money laundering on our website. We work closely with our partner banks to detect and monitor any suspicious transaction and conduct investigations together before we transfer the money to any bank account.

 

Pricing & Fees

Uploading and managing your campaign on our platform is completely free; we don’t charge you upfront. With regards to managing your campaign, there are charges for the payment methods used:
Credit Cards: 5% plus US$ 0.75 charge on every donation you receive. This includes all costs related to sustaining the platform, payment processing, and admin expenses. These exclude any taxes.
Note: donations are transferred monthly around the 15th of the following month.
